This study examines the role of Yugoslav internationalists in supporting Soviet rule in Turkestan during the early years of Bolshevik consolidation. It explores how Yugoslav volunteers, many of whom were former Austro-Hungarian soldiers captured during World War I, joined the Red Army and Soviet administrative structures in Central Asia.
